Session 1.
Saying hello
This is the first unit of our lower-intermediate course - so we'll go easy on you. Over the next few sessions, you'll meet some of our presenters, learn some informal ways of saying 'hello' and practise question forms. In session 5, you can join our new 10-part drama, 'The Race'. Afterwards, you can see how much you remember from the unit with our Weekly Quiz.
Session 2.
Asking Questions.
You can't speak English without asking questions! There are a few different question types in English. In this session you'll see our presenters asking each other questions. We'll show you the grammar rules of question forms - and then you'll have a chance to practise.
Session 3.
Be a journalist.
Language in Action: Practise question forms by preparing to interview Keith Wallace, a BBC travel journalist. You'll write some questions for an interview with him and then you'll hear his answers.
Session 4.
Formal and informal writing.
Is language becoming more informal because of email and the internet? Read our article to find out if 'Dear…' is dying.
Session 5.
Enjoy our new drama, 'The Race' and test your knowledge with our weekly quiz.
In episode 1 of our new drama you can meet the main character Phil. His life is about to get a lot more exciting! After that, test your skills in our weekly quiz.
